The Blickle year 2023 at a glance

The year 2023 marks an eventful financial year for the Blickle Group in many respects. The inauguration of the new 24,000 square metre production building for polyurethane wheels and the new Blickle administration building, including the Blickle Experience Centre, were significant milestones in the company's 70-year history. With the successful completion of these pioneering projects, Blickle is ideally equipped for the challenges of the future.

Despite its world-leading position in the wheel and castor industry and its global presence, the Blickle Group faced the challenges of a demanding economic environment in 2023. Economic growth was weak in many European countries, which also had a negative impact on demand in the wheel and castor industry. The conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, high inflation, the shortage of skilled labour and a weak global economy also impacted the Blickle Group's growth.

Nevertheless, we can be satisfied with the overall development, as the Blickle Group was able to defend and further expand its position as the global market leader in the wheel and castor industry despite these adverse circumstances. Blickle is facing up to a wide range of challenges and, thanks to various optimisation and digitalisation projects as well as a large number of innovative product developments, is constantly evolving in order to remain at the forefront even in a difficult market environment.

The continuation of the successful course despite all the current challenges emphasises Blickle's strategic orientation and innovative strength. Overall, Blickle will continue to be a company that adapts flexibly to market conditions in 2023 while maintaining its core values and quality standards.

  • Turnover at the Blickle Group once again well over 300 million euros.
  • Blickle achieves a very good result in the newly introduced customer satisfaction survey using the Net Promotion Score and, with the score achieved, is one of the companies rated as "excellent".
  • A total of 30 per cent more customer-specific developments than in 2022.
  • Introduction of numerous product variants and innovations, such as rollers for aluminium profile systems.

The Blickle Group's success is based on a solid foundation, which is characterised by the extensive investments made in recent years in new buildings, facilities and the expansion of the global sales organisation. A milestone in these investments is the move into the new office building with an integrated Blickle Experience Centre and a new company restaurant. This ultra-modern building not only offers an ideal working environment for employees, but also serves as a central point of contact for customers and partners from all over the world

  • Restructuring of the entire production for an even more efficient production process and capacity expansion in central production areas, such as polyurethane production and toolmaking.
  • Opening of the Blickle Experience Centre to bring wheels and castors as well as the ErgoMove electric drive system to life.
  • Establishment of the Blickle Academy, to provide employees and partners worldwide with even better qualifications.
  • Acquisition of numerous new machines and systems.

IProgress in the area of digital services in particular emphasises our ability to adapt and innovate. The continuous development of these digital solutions enables us to respond even more efficiently to the needs of our customers, optimise processes and offer you a modern, up-to-date service.

  • Rollout of the Blickle website in eight additional countries. Blickle now has a total of 25 domains worldwide.
  • Rollout of three further Blickle webshops. The Blickle webshop is now available in a total of eleven countries.
  • Above-average growth of the Blickle webshops: Already more than 5,000 buying webshop customers worldwide.
  • The social media presence has been expanded, including the launch of a new Instagram account. You can now find Blickle on LinkedIn, Facebook und Instagram.
  • Enhanced communication options with the introduction of a chat function on a further five country websites. In total, this service is now available on 13 domains.

Our Business Unit ErgoMove, which specialises in electric drive systems, celebrated its third anniversary in 2023. Since the end of 2023, we have been working flat out on a new brand image that represents the progress and development of this business unit. There are also numerous other facts & figures and exciting innovations:

  • Number of employees in the business unit: 14.
  • More than 60 per cent sales growth compared to the previous year.
  • The new "compact" operating concept enables ErgoMove to be used in completely new applications.
  • In 2023, a large number of Projects were again acquired in more than 20 countries.
  • The service organisation was further expanded both nationally and internationally.
